Project presentation

For this Granby homeowner, the challenge was to find an outdoor railing that would live up to the character of his home. The house, with its classic lines and refined architecture, called for a product that would combine the elegance of wrought iron with the durability of maintenance-free aluminum. The result: an ornamental powder-coated aluminum railing, model Ornamental 3571, which combines beauty and strength in a product that is 100% made in Quebec.

The Ornamental 3571 model was chosen for its finely detailed ornamental balusters, which evoke traditional craftsmanship while offering the modern advantages of extruded aluminum. This two-tone design—a matte black frame and a cherry-colored handrail—creates an elegant contrast that blends perfectly with the lush green surroundings of the Granby region, just a stone’s throw from Lake Boivin.

Waterfront properties and historic homes in the region are ideally suited for this product, which never rusts, fades, or peels—no matter how harsh Quebec winters may be.

Project features

Elegant two-tone finish in black and cherry

The matte black and cherry combination is one of the most popular in the Ornamental line. This finish enhances the architectural appeal of the main entrance, creating a look reminiscent of traditional wrought-iron railings while offering vastly superior durability. The powder-coated finish ensures a color that is stable and UV-resistant, with no fading over time.

Ornamental bars with decorative motifs

The 3571 model stands out for its uniquely designed ornamental intermediate bars, which add an artistic touch to the overall look. Each component is precision-machined from extruded aluminum, ensuring a refined, long-lasting finish. It is this level of detail that makes all the difference in a high-end installation.

Maintenance-free extruded aluminum

Unlike wood or iron, the aluminum from Aluminium Distinction requires no seasonal maintenance. No repainting, no rust, no cracks. A simple wash with water is all it takes to keep the railing looking brand-new, year after year.

Sturdy construction that complies with standards

The handrail meets all the requirements of the Quebec Building Code regarding structural strength and regulatory height. The square posts, securely anchored into the steps, ensure a stable and safe installation for the whole family.

Results

Since its installation, the entrance to this residence in Granby has taken on a completely new look. The 3571 Ornamental railing has become the signature feature of the facade: visitors notice it immediately, and the owners are proud of it every season.

Aluminium Distinction has successfully delivered a product that perfectly matches the customer’s vision: an outdoor aluminum railing that combines beauty and durability without compromise. That is the promise of Aluminium Distinction.
