Brown aluminum balcony in Saint-Lin-Laurentides, QC

Apple Trail

Project presentation

In the Lower Laurentians, on the shores of Lake Achigan, homes often have a warm, rustic charm. This homeowner in Saint-Lin-Laurentides was looking for an outdoor aluminum railing that would blend seamlessly with the warm tones of his home, which features natural wood and cedar planks. The light brown finish from the Contemporary series was the obvious choice.

This 2022 project is one of the most comprehensive in the light brown line, featuring nine photos documenting the installation from every angle. You can see how the warm brown hue of the railing complements the natural materials of the facade, creating a look that is both cohesive and inviting.

Project features

Light brown — complements natural materials

Light brown is one of the most popular colors in rural areas and vacation homes in Quebec. It blends naturally with wood, stone, red brick, and the warm tones of the natural surroundings. It is a timeless choice that will never go out of style.

Installation with nine documented sections

With nine reference photos, this project illustrates in detail every aspect of the installation: angles, connectors, post bases, and transitions between sections. It serves as a useful reference for understanding what a large-scale project using the 3000 Series entails.

Brown Profile — Sturdiness and Character

The light brown profile offers the same structural strength as the other colors in the series, along with the warm character of powder-coated brown. This combination is particularly popular in vacation destinations such as the Laurentians.

Resistance to humid environments

Near Lake Achigan, properties are exposed to higher-than-average humidity. Powder-coated aluminum withstands these conditions perfectly without rusting, swelling, or deteriorating—unlike wood or ferrous metals.

Results

This project in Saint-Lin-Laurentides is a fine example of the successful integration of an aluminum railing into a natural setting. The light brown finish of the Contemporary home blends seamlessly into the home’s architecture, as if the railing had always been there.
