White Privacy Screen in Saint-Hubert, QC

Cousineau Boulevard

Project presentation

In densely built-up residential areas like Saint-Hubert, ensuring privacy on the patio is often the first challenge to address. Backyards are right next to one another, neighbors are close by, and fully enjoying your patio without feeling like you’re being watched can sometimes be a real challenge. It is precisely to meet this specific need that Aluminium Distinction has developed the Privacy screen—a maintenance-free aluminum solution that creates a private and sheltered space while maintaining impeccable aesthetic appeal.

For this Saint-Hubert project completed in 2022, white was chosen for its ability to reflect light and visually enlarge the patio spaces. Set against a backdrop of green grass and beneath a blue sky, the white panels of the Privacy screen create an almost Mediterranean effect—bright and summery. The horizontal slats, made of white powder-coated aluminum, alternate with carefully calibrated open spaces to allow air to circulate while blocking the view.

With photos showing the entire installation, this project demonstrates the wide range of possible configurations with the Privacy screen.

Project features

Horizontal slats for controlled privacy

The horizontal slats of the Privacy screen are oriented to block views from the outside while allowing air to circulate. This clever design prevents the “blind wall” effect and maintains a pleasant connection to the landscape, without sacrificing privacy.

Powder-coated white — brightness and freshness

The white color reflects natural light and gives outdoor spaces a sense of openness and freshness. In a dense urban setting like Saint-Hubert, this effect of visual brightness is particularly welcome for patios and terraces that are limited in space.

Maintenance-free extruded aluminum

Unlike wood, which requires painting, treatment, and replacement every few years, the powder-coated aluminum panels of the Privacy screen require no maintenance. A simple rinse with water is all it takes to keep them looking pristine season after season.

UV and weather resistance

The white powder coating applied to the aluminum is UV-resistant and does not yellow—a critical factor for a white finish exposed to direct sunlight. Intense summer rays and mild winter weather do not alter the product’s color or structure.

Custom Modular Configuration

The Privacy screen can be configured in a straight line, at an angle, or in an L-shape, depending on the shape of the patio and specific privacy needs. Each panel is custom-sized to fit perfectly within the constraints of the terrain and the home’s architecture.

Results

Since the installation of the white Privacy Screen, the patio at Saint-Hubert has become a true summer retreat. The owner can now enjoy their outdoor space without being seen from neighboring properties, in a bright and well-maintained setting that enhances the entire backyard.

Aluminium Distinction proves once again that a maintenance-free patio lifestyle is possible—and that it can be beautiful.
