Project presentation

Thetford Mines, in the heart of the Chaudière-Appalaches region, is a town with character, where the homes reflect a strong connection to the Quebec countryside. This homeowner wanted to replace an old wooden ramp with a matte black extruded aluminum structure—both sturdy and attractive—for his property located not far from Lac à la Tortue.

The Contemporary 3000 model in light black was chosen for its sturdier construction compared to the 2000 series, making it ideal for installations exposed to the region’s strong winds and harsher winter conditions. The two photos show the installation from the front and the side, illustrating the structure’s sturdiness and visual cohesion.

Project features

Profile 3000 — Increased Durability

The Contemporary 3000 series differs from the 2000 series in that it features thicker posts and handrails, providing superior structural rigidity. It is the preferred choice for installations exposed to the elements, particularly in northern regions or areas prone to high winds.

Light matte black powder-coated

The light black finish on this railing is identical to that of the 2000 Series, using the same industrial powder-coating process that ensures the color will remain stable for decades. The matte black finish gives the installation an understated and refined Contemporary look.

Solid Quebec Manufacturing

Aluminium Distinction manufactures its extruded aluminum profiles in its Quebec facilities, monitoring every stage of production to ensure consistent quality. Each part is designed to last without ever needing to be replaced.

Results

This project in Thetford Mines demonstrates that an aluminum patio ramp can completely transform the appearance of a home, no matter where in Quebec it is located. The matte black finish of the Contemporary 3000 adds elegance and modernity to this impressive property.
