Gray Aluminum Patio Railing in Granby, QC — Near Lake Boivin

Project presentation

Granby is known for its zoo, but also for its pleasant residential neighborhoods that stretch toward Lac Boivin, a lake popular with families and vacationers in the Estrie region. The owners of this home on Chemin du Lac Boivin wanted to add a railing to their outdoor patio that would be worthy of its surroundings: sturdy, low-maintenance, and visually consistent with the semi-natural setting of their property.

The Heritage 3560 handrail from Aluminium Distinction, in its powder-coated gray finish, met all of these requirements. Its striking architectural design, neutral finish, and superior resistance to outdoor conditions make it a particularly suitable choice for waterfront properties in the Granby area.

The Montérégie and Estrie regions experience hot, humid summers that can take just as much of a toll on exterior materials as freezing winters. Aluminium Distinction’s maintenance-free aluminum holds up well in both conditions, without ever rusting, warping, or cracking.

Project features

Profile Heritage 3560 — large-format architectural

With its 3-inch × 5-inch posts, the 3560 model is designed for large decks and spacious patios. Its imposing structure and generous proportions make it an outdoor railing that stands out as a true element of exterior architecture, not just a safety feature.

Powder-coated gray — a timeless color palette

The gray finish of the Heritage 3560 is particularly well-suited to the lakeside environments of the Estrie region, where the sky, water, and rocky shores are rendered in shades of gray, beige, and brown. This color blends naturally with the landscape while conveying a sense of solidity and quality.

No maintenance required

Unlike wooden or wrought-iron railings, which require regular maintenance, the Heritage 3560 railing is ready for the season as soon as the ice melts in the spring. No sanding, no painting, no anti-corrosion treatment—just a quick rinse with water if necessary.

Custom-made in Quebec

Aluminium Distinction manufactures all of its handrails in its Quebec workshops, according to the exact dimensions provided by each customer. This custom approach ensures a perfect fit and a finished product with no compromise on aesthetics.

Results

The patio of this lakeside property in Granby now offers an unobstructed view of Lake Boivin, framed by the Heritage 3560 railing, whose elegant gray blends harmoniously into the surroundings. The owners have gained not only in safety but also in visual enjoyment: every morning, they can enjoy their coffee on the terrace in a beautiful setting.

Aluminium Distinction embodies Quebec’s excellence in maintenance-free outdoor aluminum railings, and this project in Granby is further proof of that.
