Black aluminum railing in Saguenay — near Lake Kénogami

Project presentation

Saguenay, the regional capital of Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, is a city where homes are nestled alongside magnificent bodies of water such as Lake Kénogami. This homeowner was looking for a deck railing that would enhance the view of the lake from his balcony without compromising safety. The solution: the Murano 2020 model in light black, featuring tempered glass panels.

The six photos of this 2022 project show the installation as viewed from the main terrace, with a special focus on the panoramic view preserved by the glass panels. This is precisely why the Murano has become the model of choice for waterfront properties in Quebec.

Project features

Unspoiled View of Lake Kénogami

The Murano’s main advantage in this context is its ability to preserve the view. From the terrace, the eye travels unobstructed through the glass panels, allowing guests to fully appreciate the lakeside scenery of Lake Kénogami—a view that alone justifies the investment.

Matte black frame made of extruded aluminum

The black frame of the Murano design is made of powder-coated extruded aluminum, which is just as durable as the one in the Contemporary series. The matte black finish complements the home’s dark finishes and creates an elegant contrast with the transparency of the glass.

Safety-tempered glass for the Far North

Saguenay experiences particularly harsh winters, with temperatures that can drop to -30°C and below. Aluminium Distinction’s certified tempered glass is designed to withstand these extreme temperature fluctuations without ever cracking or warping.

Results

This project in Saguenay is a perfect example of what the Murano can achieve in a northern, lakeside setting. The homeowner enjoys an elegant, safe terrace that opens onto the lake—without ever having to maintain the railing.
