Bois-Franc Township
Project presentation
Located between Lévis and Plessisville, Saint-Agapit is a village in the Lotbinière region where residential architecture harmoniously blends Quebec’s rural heritage with contemporary designs. It was in this rural setting that the certified installers at Aluminium Distinction completed one of their best-documented Standard projects in 2023—10 web photos showcasing the entire installation of a black 2520 railing of exemplary quality.
The homeowner wanted to replace an old, worm-eaten wooden railing with a maintenance-free, durable outdoor aluminum railing that complies with current standards. The black Standard 2520 model was chosen for its generous dimensions, its durability in the face of Lotbinière’s winters, and its black finish, which contrasts elegantly with the pale color palette of the facade.
The high-resolution web photos of this project perfectly highlight the quality of craftsmanship and the even spacing of the balusters on the Standard 2520 model.
Project features
The benchmark for ambitious residential projects
With a wider profile than entry-level models, the Standard 2520 railing makes a bold architectural statement while retaining the visual lightness characteristic of aluminum. The proportions of this model are particularly well-suited for two-story homes or raised decks that are more than 60 cm above the ground.
Black powder coating — a finish that lasts
The matte black coating applied to the Standard 2520 profiles is the result of a rigorous industrial process: cleaning, phosphating, and high-temperature baking to ensure perfect adhesion. The result is a smooth, uniform surface that resists superficial scratches and shows no signs of wear even after several harsh winters.
10 perspectives — a comprehensive photographic record
The series of 10 web photos of this project in Saint-Agapit is a remarkable marketing tool: each photo highlights a different aspect of the installation—an overview, a detail of the handrail, an angle of the staircase, and the floor anchoring. This is a rare resource in the residential railing industry.
Guaranteed Compliance and Security
This installation complies with all requirements of the National Building Code of Canada as applied in Quebec. Minimum height of 920 mm (31 inches), maximum baluster spacing of 100 mm (4 inches), reinforced anchoring to the slabs—every detail is engineered to ensure the safety of occupants.
Results
The transformation brought about by this ramp on the Saint-Agapit property is striking: the staircase and terrace now have a clean, Contemporary, and safe look, without the owner having to pay for a major renovation.
Aluminium Distinction: The most cost-effective outdoor handrail over 25 years, installed by professionals throughout Quebec.
